"Fifteen Pornography Companies pays homage to the art of Edward Ruscha and the dozens of small photo books he created in the '60s and '70s on architectural typologies endemic to the Southern California Landscape from gas stations, to swimming pools, to parking lots. The book works as an update to Ruscha's typologies to include a more contemporary, ubiquitous Southern California entity; the pornography production company. The photograph's reveal the mundane, nearly invisible side of an otherwise sensationalized industry that permeates the Los Angeles landscape." -- artist's statement
